Depending on trainees’ qualifications we can offer different options for Erasmus+ work placements.

General car repair & maintenance shops

Majority of our students with background in auto-mechanics (especially those within short-term mobilities) take place in universal automobile repair shops.

These companies serve all types and brands of passenger cars.  They diagnose the common car problems and make repairs on different systems. Such repair shops also run regular maintenance all car types.

There are plenty of general car services in Vilnius, ranging from small family-run shops in the neighbourhood to well-established networks through the country.

Learning goals. Trainees will have chance to strengthen their skills in diagnosing the most-common car problems, repairing them and ensuring due maintenance for popular car brands.

Possible trainees’ tasks in such repair shop might include:

  • diagnostics of common malfunctions in suspension, break, ignition, conditioning systems;
  • changing tyres, aligning wheels (especially in spring and autumn season);
  • repairs in suspension systems;
  • repairs in brake system;
  • general maintenance (e.g. changing oils, air filters);
  • and performing other repair and maintenance works.

Specialised automobile repair & maintenance shops

For senior students willing to deepen their knowledge in a very specific area, we can offer specialised car repair shops.

Some host companies in our network are official dealerships for popular car brands. Along with sales,  they also carry on maintenance and repairs of that particular brand of cars. It takes many years for staff to gain expertise and get certification to work on such cars.

Such type of specialised workshops often expect experienced and very determined trainees with longer mobility period. Another way to specialise for our trainees is to focus on certain car parts on systems. At the moment, in our host companies network we have experts in hydraulic systems, engines, and turbochargers. However, more specialisations can be added to this list upon your request.

Learning goals. In these placements, trainees will deepen their knowledge and skills in a selected narrow field.

Possible trainees’ tasks in such repair shop might include:

  • observing master’s work;
  • helping master in performing maintenance and repair;
  • performing repetitive smaller-scale assignments;
  • learning deeply about machines, tools and materials used in performance of a specific repair work;
  • learning about nuances in solving different problems of the same vehicle model or same system.

Companies specialised in agricultural machinery, commercial transport and heavy equipment

For students with background in such domains as industrial mechanics, metalwork or agricultural technologies, we can offer placements in companies that specialise in sales, maintenance and technical service of:

  • agricultural and forestry machinery,
  • heavy equipment,
  • trucks,
  • passenger and cargo minibuses.

Although not impossible for shorter durations, the most value (both for trainee and employer) is gained via long-term mobilities in such companies  (i.e. 2 months and more).

Learning goals. In these placements, trainees will have chance to strengthen their skills in diagnosing malfunctions and repairing of special-purpose motor vehicles.

Possible trainees’ tasks in such repair shop might include:

  • diagnostics of common malfunctions in vehicles;
  • removing simple malfunctions;
  • maintenance and repair of engines;
  • maintenance and repair of other systems (in trucks and minibuses),
  • preparation of agriculture machinery for work season,
  • and performing other repair and maintenance works.
